Ways to Create Connection
To connect is to bring together or into contact so that a real link is established. Connecting with people in our life is an important part of our social and emotional life. Creating a special connection or bondage with someone can often be difficult for some people so we've put together 5 ways to create connection when in a relationship.
Start with yourself
Similar to love itself, you need to have a great connection with yourself first. Being disconnected with yourself can equate to disconnection with your partner and this often means a break in the relationship. Having an inner connection starts with loving yourself and having a strong, secure relationship with your mind.
Open to learning
Being open minded is a great way to connect to your partner - it means you're willing to accept and embrace any idiosyncrasies they may have. Being open to learning about another person allows you to get to know them on a deeper level which brings you on a new level of connection.
Don't use intimacy to strengthen connection
Using physical intimacy as a way to strengthen the relationship can bring you to a negative outcome, making the relationship and connection based purely on sex. Instead, physical intimacy should only heighten the connection that already exists. If for some reason you feel that you need to be physically connected to be mentally connected, you should be open and discuss this issue with your partner.
Always be appreciative and respectful
No matter how long or short you've been in a relationship, you should always practice the art of appreciation and respect. As angry as you may be in an argument, be sure to think twice about saying anything that may really hurt your partner. Be appreciative of each other and don't forget that the little things they used to do for you that has become routine now, is still something that should be appreciated.
Give your partner attention
As busy as we may be in the world today, you need to remember to give your partner attention at least once during the day. Once a day, put the phone down, close the laptops and turn off the TV and ask your partner to sit down and have a conversation with you. Talk about your stresses from the day or the joys and celebrate together.
